The most recent wave of giggles has faded. (Post Bachelor Party - Pre CfJ)

"Oh man. That was awful of us." Bette doesn't look like she thought it was awful. She looks like she thought it was a laugh riot. "We're bad, bad people." Of course that nearly sets off another wave of the giggles as she looks over to her compatriot.

Pausing, she looks around and scruchnes up her face some. "Where the hell are we anyway?" They've wandered some from Warriors, not having had anywhere specific in mind to get to after leaving. "Ah who cares. We can worry about it later." A pause, "That was awesome. In a horrible way. I'm starving. Are you hungry? We should get some hashbrowns."

"Well, hold on a minute, though. You mentioned wanting to sleep with other people and having an arrangement with Vic and then you talk about us." Jesse emerges, barefoot but changed, from her bedroom and fluffs her short hair into place. "Stop babbling and just say what you want to say."

"Huh?"

Bette blinks a bit and looks up at Jesse. "Oh. Well. I was, really. But..." There is a pause as whatever train Bette's mind was on has now left her behind. "You're one of the most important people in my life, Jesse. When things happen I want to talk to you about them."

She pauses, looking down and scuffing her feet. It might occur to Jesse that for some reason Bette's looking shy... almost scared. "I mean, I really care about you and I want to work out the weirdness. I think I'll always want to sleep with you but ... I don't normally ... care about people ... deeply."

Jesse's hand cups Bette's face as she returns softly, "I love you too, you know. You don't have to be that shy about it."

"Oh thank God." Bette wraps her arms around Jesse enthusiatically. Of course it also seems that her legs might have been about to give out on her.

The embrace is warm and lingering; Jesse isn't much of a hugger, but she has few people she likes being close to. With or without the weirdness between them, Bette is a close friend. The contact is nice.

Bette takes a few moments to just stand there and enjoy the hug. It doesn't happen often that she does that. Pulling back, she then leans up and kisses Jesse on the forhead, before saying, "Okay."

"Two things. We should just plow right on through any weirdness that comes up - find out where we can and can't go. And I'm totally jealous of you."

"Jealous of me?" Uttered as if Jesse's flummoxed that anyone would be jealous of her. "Why?"

They're so close. Nope, awkwardness not nearly gone yet.

"You remember earlier? With the whole touching thing? Wally and Dick?" Bette grins a bit, some teasing in her tone. "That and there is no way I could ever pull off Power Girl."
